Program management encompasses the coordinated management of multiple projects designed to implement strategies and deliver specific benefits. The course covers sections ofMGI518 Program Management, an elective subject in the Master of Project Management andMaster of Management (IT) degrees at Charles Sturt University. MGI518 Program Management gives students the skills required for coordinated management of multiple related projects directed toward strategic business and organisational objectives. It is based on the Project Management Institute's current Program Management Professional (PgPM)certification and this short course will help students prepare for this certification.
The course will be run over five weeks with lectures delivered via 90 minute webinars starting at 7:00 AEST on Tuesday 17 June. These will all be available for later viewing. In between the webinars students will be asked to do, in total, 10-12 hours of study.
Topics covered are: integrating projects into programs; time, cost, quality and resources for programs; program and portfolio integration; governance.
At the culmination of the course students will have the opportunity to sit a one-hour online exam. Those who pass the test will be awarded a certificate of achievement from IT Masters and Charles Sturt University.

During 2000 – 2007 Burchmore employed and trained a team of project managers for an IT company in Sydney implementing national VPN solutions. He also oversaw the replacement of the business workflow, provisioning and project management software whilst re-engineering all the project-related processes and replacing all policy procedures relating to this. Since then he has provided ad-hoc project management training to national companies including HiFert and ANZ Bank and also managed a number of large scale and long term projects.
Hosking has over 20 years' experience in principal management consulting and program director roles including establishing and managing enterprise/portfolio program offices. He has delivered multi million dollar, full life cycle programs from both a business and IT perspective.
