Century Yuasa Batteries, an affiliate of the global GS Yuasa Corporation, operates in both Australia and New Zealand, employing 600 people and generating annual revenues of approximately $230 million.
Century Yuasa Batteries set out to replace its existing budgeting process with a more automated solution, including scenario modelling of crucial variables such as lead pricing, foreign exchange rates, and trends and seasonality in sales and pricing.
With assistance from Bistech, the world's first IBM Business Partner to achieve gold-level IBM Software Practice Accreditation in both Cognos TM1 and Cognos Business Intelligence, the company implemented a planning solution introducing advanced planning capabilities while greatly improving efficiency of the budgeting process and allowing the company to move to a rolling forecast planning process.
