Xchanging plc, the business process, procurement and technology services provider, today announced a new module to its recently launched mobile application tailor-made for the New South Wales (NSW) workers' compensation management market in Australia, Xoom. This new module provides direct access to important claims information via any device, providing injured workers with greater control in the return to work process.

The first phase of Xoom was brought to market in November 2013 to provide a single platform for the delivery of services, content and tools designed to benefit intermediaries in the NSW workers' compensation industry. Since then, more than 80 brokers have deployed the Xoom app to support their businesses locally. A second phase of the Xoom mobile application designed specifically for employers, was released last month and included new features designed to make the workers' compensation management process more efficient.

The third and latest phase of Xoom provides injured workers with:

· A device independent application providing real-time, efficient and secure access to claim information including liability status, last WorkCover medical certificate, claim number from any device and at any time;

· Access to My Benefits which includes weekly benefits, reimbursements, scheduled payments; and,

· Access to information about roles, responsibilities and key Xchanging contacts.

"We are proud to be the first workers' compensation agent to release a mobile app in the NSW market, and we will continue to develop the system to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our clients. This release of Xoom highlights our ongoing commitment to the industry and our clients. We believe providing injured workers with increased visibility and access to their critical claims information will make the workers' compensation management process more efficient, and allow injured workers to return to work sooner," said Diego Ascani, General Manager and Head of Insurance at Xchanging Australia.

World-Leading Technology

The mobile app for injured workers can be accessed on any device at any time, from PC to tablet to smart phones. Built on HTML5, the latest standard for HTML, Xoom has been designed to deliver rich content without the need for additional plugins.

"The success of the Xoom app within the broker community has led us to incorporate further stakeholder feedback to develop a mobile app specifically for injured workers – we are certainly looking forward to seeing the value it provides the community and industry as a whole", said Marc Diffey, CIO at Xchanging Australia.

Xoom is currently available to download from the Apple App Store and from Google Play for both iOS and Android operating systems.
